Scottsdale is a destination wedding market, with resort ballrooms, desert backdrops and couples who expect polish. If you photograph weddings here, albums can be a reliable income stream and a signature of your brand. This workflow guide is for Scottsdale, Arizona photographers who want to sell and deliver albums without losing evenings to design.
Understand the destination client
Scottsdale draws destination weddings, so a share of your clients will live out of state and fly in for the weekend. They are organizing the whole thing remotely and will expect a smooth experience, from the shoot to the final product. That is exactly where a full-service album offer lands well: one less thing to coordinate from another state.
That also means you must be clear about timelines and shipping. Explain when proofs arrive, how revisions work and when the finished book will land at their home, so the experience feels organized from start to finish.
Scottsdale's resort and event-venue scene means you will often work in the same locations repeatedly. That is an advantage: you already know where the light goes at each hour, so you can show past work with confidence and tell clients which spots photograph best for an album's opening spread.
Position albums as part of the collection
Build albums into your higher-tier packages and offer a la carte options for others. Showing a finished book in a consultation helps, because a client can feel the paper, the weight and the way a lay-flat page opens. We do not sell a sample kit yet, so the practical route is to order a copy of a past client's album at the standard price.
Offer a parent album at a set price. Parents who watched a destination weekend from the sidelines often want their own copy, and naming the option at booking makes it easier to add when the final gallery is delivered.
Timing matters. Raise albums twice: shortly after the wedding, and again when you deliver the gallery. A short email with three or four sample spreads built from their own photos gives a couple something concrete to say yes to, rather than an abstract add-on.
Designing quickly without losing quality
Upload your selected images to Folio Forever's online designer and let Smart Auto-Layout build the spreads. You then adjust the story, swap images and refine pacing. The point is that you react to a full first draft instead of starting from a blank page.
Photographers can design client albums online through the photographers page. If you are in your busiest months, the optional $99 design-team polish hand-off is a way to keep deliveries on schedule, while you retain final approval before printing.
Keep your design process consistent. Choose a signature approach to pacing, such as opening with a wide venue shot, moving through preparation, and closing with a quiet portrait. Consistency becomes part of your brand and makes each album faster to build. Share one or two finished spreads with the couple early. Seeing their own photos on a page, with a look that matches your style, builds trust and often leads them to add spreads or upgrade their cover.
Numbers you can quote
Albums include fifteen spreads and a photo cover. Classic 12x24 and 16x24 start at $240, lay-flat at $275. The 15x30 is $300 classic and $335 lay-flat. The 20x30 is $340 classic and $375 lay-flat. Additional spreads cost $8 to $18 depending on size and binding, up to 40 spreads.
Leather covers add $25 and acrylic adds $39. For resort clients who value presentation, an acrylic cover on a large lay-flat is a straightforward premium upgrade. The photographers page covers using the online designer for client work. A dedicated trade program is not open yet, so for now you order at the prices above and set your own client pricing.
Delivery, approvals and reprints
Every page is approved before printing, and what you approve is what is printed. Production takes five to seven business days after approval and payment. Delivery options include Express at $60, Standard at $32 and Economy at $12, all with tracking.
If a book arrives with a print or binding defect, transit damage, or anything that does not match the approved proof, report it within 14 days of delivery for a free reprint or a full refund. Reflect those terms in your own client contract so everyone knows what is covered and by when.
Finally, follow up. A short note a few weeks after delivery asking how the album landed is the cheapest way to surface reorders, parent copies and referrals.
Questions
Can I order albums for clients and have them shipped directly?
Yes. Orders ship anywhere in the US with tracking, so albums can go straight to your client's address. A separate trade program is still in development, so you order at the standard prices and set your own client pricing.
Do I need design software?
No. The online designer builds layouts automatically and lets you edit them in the browser.
